It’s almost golf season and the McLaren Greater Lansing Foundation would like to extend a warm and heartfelt thank you to everyone taking part in the upcoming 20th annual Jack Breslin Golf Classic. Whether you are a sponsor, donor, golfer, or volunteer, your generosity and help in making this a successful event is deeply appreciated. Thanks to your support, we sold out this event at both Eagle Eye and Hawk Hollow nearly six weeks before the shotgun start!
As we move forward in year two of the novel coronavirus pandemic, all of us at the Foundation are keenly aware of the profound impact it has had on so many Michiganders who have lost loved ones to COVID-19.
This year’s event, which will be hosted by Michigan State University head football coach Mel Tucker and his wife, JoJo, will look much like it did last year when several safety protocols were put in place. However, we are confident participants will be able to enjoy themselves while following social distancing guidelines and playing golf amongst their friends, colleagues, business associates, and fellow community leaders. It has been a wild ride this past year, and we are thankful you’ve stuck with us!
Proceeds from the outing will benefit McLaren Greater Lansing Foundation’s Campaign for Care, a $10 million fundraising effort that will provide philanthropic support for a new state-of-the-art hospital scheduled to open in March of next year. A Karmanos Cancer Institute and outpatient care center will be attached to the main nine-story structure that will house 240 beds and be a bright, shining addition to health care in the capital region. The campus will also include the McLaren Health & Wellness Pavilion (also the location of the Foundation’s new home!)
An event of this size would not be possible without the generosity of a slew of local businesses, organizations, and individuals. But we want to especially thank MSU Federal Credit Union for sponsoring today’s outing at the founding level for the eighth consecutive year.
